JT O’Donnell, founder and CEO of Work It Daily, recently launched a social media campaign on TikTok asking users to share their stories about why they “#workitdaily”.
Why do you do what you do?
Work It Daily’s mission in 2023 is to help millions of people become the driven professionals they want to be. But to achieve this, we need to change the narrative. We need to stop asking people what their job title is and what they do for a job and judging them based on those answers. Instead, we need to start getting to know the people behind the work.
And we achieve this through storytelling.
If millions of us can share our stories about why we work, we will collectively make a difference. And this is also how we will finally be able to comfortably work to live instead of living to work. Change must happen, and we are starting that change with this campaign.

Our first participant in this challenge was Fatima, a writer who loves telling other people’s stories.
In her TikTok, Fatima says:
Writing is my passion. This is how I express myself and share my voice through the stories of others. Telling stories is a way to communicate, connect with others and make a difference. I think it’s also a personal journey for me. I love nothing more than just sitting down with someone and hearing about their experiences, their challenges, their struggles, their triumphs and their accomplishments, and then being able to take all of that and put it in words. There is something magical about being there for someone who shares their story and is there.
