With today’s exorbitant college costs, the sad reality is that students are graduating with a lot of debt. Worse still, many are unable to find well-paying jobs and are underemployed.

Most sales jobs are learned through apprenticeships or require certification which takes much less time and money than an expensive four-year degree.
3. You don’t need to take time off to make money

To return to school full-time, you need to have money set aside to cover living expenses. With a retail job, you work immediately and earn an income, without depleting your savings.
4. There is no shortage of work

Currently, all professions are losing their aging workforce made up of baby boomers (57-75 years old). There aren’t enough middle-aged workers to replace them. The professions are seriously lacking new workers. Right now, if you work in a profession and you are good at what you do, there are many opportunities to make money.
5. Working hours can be more flexible

Many jobs have different schedules (night work, or three days on/four days off, etc.), which are more appealing than the typical office job where you work all day, 40-50 hours /week. Jobs in the trades can give you the flexibility you need to take a course, start your own business or pursue a passion.

They require skill and offer incredible value. Don’t let pride stop you from pursuing a successful career in the trades. There’s only one person you need to impress with your career: YOU. Choose for yourself, not for others!
